Fall Project

So many of you have inspired me to start thinking of my next project. Normally I am not a big painter, but I'm thinking it may need to be done. Currently my kitchen is painted white, my entire house is WHITE! White shows every little thing that touches it......I live with 3 boys and am constantly scrubbing down cupboards. The kitchen is in need of a new coat of paint anyway. I have been tossing around the idea of painting the cabinets a light brown with the wall a few shades darker. I think this would look good, but I have a dilemma.......the hinges are exposed and are silver as well as all of the door handles. Should I leave the hardware silver or change them out for new. Also, my sink and faucet are silver and I don't want to change them out because of the expense. My tile and counter tops are gray, but they do have a little tan color in them. I'm thinking I could leave all the hardware and add accents of silver to the already existing red appliances. Add comments please.....I NEED SUGGESTIONS!!

Daddy Time

I guess it's that time of year again. The pasture is nearly gone and the "boys" have been brought in to the dry lot. Brody and Cannon love doing anything outside with their Dad, and little things like this are no exception. They even got some 4-wheeler time in. Travis has been working some extreme hours lately, so when they get a chance Brody and Cannon are always in his back pocket.

For Brody's 2nd Birthday he received a camping set from the Smith Family. He has always played with the backpack, water bottle, and flashlight. I don't know what got into him the other day, but he insisted on setting up his tent. So we pitched the tent in the living room. All day Brody and Cannon were in and out of the tent. It was the best entertainment I've had in a long time. Brody had talked about going to sleep in the tent, but I figured he would change his mind. When it came bed time, he was pretty determined to sleep in the tent. Remember, we have hard wood floors and how comfortable can that be even for a 2 yr old?? He had his 2 sleeping bags, 2 pillows and his cowboy blanket and crashed for the night. Oh yeah, Travis filled his water bottle to help him survive the adventure! Thank you Smitty, Donna, Delanie, Cheyenne........and most of all Skylar for the great camping gear!

The last one of the year

This rodeo season has come to an end for the Deal Family. It didn't go without a few choice moments for me to grab my camera.......Travis just rolls his eyes now when when he sees me headed for the camera!

Brody has been talking about riding a sheep all year. We thought he was a little young, 2 1/2, but finally got sick of hearing about the sheep. Saturday was his day. He started off the day by hanging out by the sheep pen, picking out which sheep he wanted to ride. If we couldn't find him, we knew where he was. Then came rodeo time. He was all geared up, headed over behind the chutes, and he tells his Dad......."I don't want to ride sheep". Travis then tells Brody, "Too bad, you're gettin on" Brody was the 2nd one out. Brody did have a little help, Dad hung onto Brody while friend Jamie held the sheep back. The newspaper crew even got him coming out of the chute. When I asked Brody about his sheep ride, he says "It's not fun". I'm sure he'll change his mind next year.

Cannon absolutely loves being outside and on the loose, this pictures shows that he isn't afraid of a little dirt. I can't believe how quickly this boy can get DIRTY!! It got worse after this picture was taken........This shirt is still soaking with stain remover.

After a long day rodeoin' the Deal Family is exhausted. Cannon fell asleep in the highchair at dinner, Dad came to his rescue quickly to give him some comfort.

All summer, the boys' favorite treat is the good ol' popcicle........or Ice Meam as Brody calls it. Who doesn't enjoy a good popcicle in the heat of summer?

First Day of School

Today was Brody's very first day at Preschool. He was so excited to wear his new backpack and go play and draw pictures. I guess I never told him that I wouldn't be staying for his preschool time, because when I told him I was leaving he wasn't the happiest camper. The teacher distracted him with the fish (Nemo) so I could make a quick getaway. He didn't even realize I was gone. He was pretty excited to see me when I picked him up though!!

It was a quiet 2 1/2 hours back at home. Cannon took a nap and I got alot done around the house. I think I'm going to like Tuesday's and Thursday's.....expect to see more blogs when Brody's at Preschool!

When it's Quiet

Of course being a stay at home mom, with 3 MESSY boys, one of the daily tasks is laundry. It is so much easier, and quicker, to run downstairs to switch loads or fold once the dryer is done. Leaving the boys upstairs while I do this has never been an issue in the past......it doesn't take long to fold a load of laundry! Plus, you can hear everything in our house because of the hardwood floors upstairs. This one time......nothing. No noise, no talking, no playing, no running.....NOTHING. I got a little worried, so I ran upstairs and this is what I found. Cannon had gotten into the garbage and found a jar of almost gone chocolate frosting. Let's just say that it was completely gone once he was done with it.

Labor Day weekend was a McClure family reunion/Grandma's 85th Surprise Birthday party. I still can't believe that everyone managed to make the trip to Wallowa Lake, OR. It was so great to see everyone. It is very rare that everyone is able to make it to a family function.

Wallowa Lake was amazing. It was nice to be out of cell phone range and not have one bit of agenda. We pulled into our camp ground on Friday afternoon and headed for home on Monday morning. During our visit the boys had a great time hanging out with family and seeing all the wildlife UP CLOSE!!
